This was a quickie! The official website for the EarthTalks 2011 was done from scratch in one day. The Neongreen Network is an association I am working for as a volunteer, and I am in charge of event management. As external companies failed to provide us with a useful on-line event registration tool that we could integrate into the existing neongreen.net website, I decided to set up a Joomla website only for the event and do the event registration myself.

650 visitors registered and attended the event on 24 May 2011.

The main challenge for the website was to match the look & feel with the very low-key layout of the association's website, while making use of the Joomla capabilities.

This website was developed for a concrete manufacturer with more than 100 years of traditional company history. The CEO decided they wanted to have a modern website that is showing off their product range and at the same time remains attractive to the visitors.

After a photo shooting, the plan was to integrate those images in order to attract visitors.

The website was developed in Joomla 1.5 over 4 months and after a training session with the in-house editors, it is updated internally, which is saving time and costs for the company.

Professional cyclist Mark Renshaw wanted to have a new website. His existing site was nice and made with flash, but unfortunately Mark was unable to update it.

Mark Renshaw's new Joomla based website is easy to navigate, works cross-platform, and the icing on the cake is that Mark can update the website himself. All he needed was a 30 minutes training. Mark and his wife populate the website themselves in the blog and the news section. They are doing it with the same speed that Mark does his racing.

While working as director of communications for Monaco based sport events marketing agency Star Production, the existing website did not cater for our needs. After too many meetings with the web designer agency, I decided to make the website myself, as I wanted 100% control over it, and independence from anyone else and their working hours.

The website was then developed with Joomla 1.5 and expanded rapidly over the next 18 months, just like the event series. 17 events in 11 destinations are represented on the mega-website, published in 6 languages, updated by 12 editors in the local offices, generating 25.000 unique visitors each month.

I stopped developing the website as I stopped working for Star Production in April 2011, but you can still see it on-line at star-events.cc

Of course I am doing my own website myself! It is the best example for the fact that a website is constantly evolving and never stopped.

I have been doing my website in Joomla since 2006 - this is where I learned most about this CMS, and this is also where I do most trial-and-error tests with new components and modules.
